Properties:
Martensitic chromium steel with cobalt molybdnum and vanadium addition
For tools and components which can be hardened to very high hardness levels
Surface finish required for good corrosion resistance :fined ground or polished
Application:
Hardned cutting tools with excellent edge-holding property,such as knife blades ,cutting surgical instruments,rotary knife for the meat processing industry,plate and knife-edge fulcrums,corrosion resistant roller bearings,valve needles and pistons for refrigerating machines.
Forging:
1050 to 900 ºC cooling in furnace
Annealing:
800 to 850 ºC
Hardening:
1030 to 1080 ºC
