1. Product description :
Material : 4000 series, 1000 series, and 304 stainless steel among others
As the name suggests, hot forgings is where steel is heated to 700-1000 degree celcius. At these
elevated temperatures, the flow stresses of the steel generally are reduced allowing the steel to be
formed into its final shape. The nature of forgings allows for extremely strong parts at a competitive
price. Because of the final part being forged, there is no issue with porosity on forgings. Because the
material is heated to elevated temperatures in air, a small layer of iron oxide forms during the forging
process, this is known as 'scales'.
