This part with complex 3 dimensional shapes is used in a light arm and has been specially designed for Metal Injection Molding(MIM) production. The part is made from MIM-4340 Fe-Ni low alloy steel(1.5-2.5%Ni, 0.8-1.2%Cr, 0.5%Mo, 0.4-0.6%C, Fe balance), sintered to a density of 7.50 g/cm3 and has a hardness of 40 - 44 HRC after heat treatment. The material has a tensile strength of 1500 MPa, yield strength of 1350 MPa. The part is characterized by thin walls and sharp edges. To produce this part by other metal forming methods in an efficient way is almost impossible. MIM technology perfectly suits this part in large quantity demand, at the same time cost saving.
Complexity. The components can be created with complex-geometry features such as cross-drilled holes, threads and thin walls.
Material properties. Parts produced through the MIM process are comparable in density and strength to those made from wrought metal.
Tolerances. +/-0.03mm ~ +/-0.05mm per cm.
Finish. Typically around 1μ M.
Quality. Computer controlled automatic production allow for the parts to be produced in large quantities while maintaining consistent quality.

Post Process
