Cold Forging is a process where by a product is made to a near net shape. The billet starts at room
temperature and is lubricated and formed to a near net shape. Because the temperature of the
forming does not exceed elevated temperatures, scales do not occur during the forging processes.
Because the material does not need to be heated immediately prior to the forging process, the cost of
cold forgings are cheaper than those of hot forgings.
